I just built a pc and when i went to test it out, nothing was displayed on the monitor when plugged into the HDMI on the motherboard. I decided to try the ones that are on the graphics card and it worked fine.

My motherboard is the Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO and my Graphics card is the Asus Geforce GTX 970 Strix.

What did I do wrong??!?!? :(

Any help is appreciated!!

The HDMI output likely just needs you to enable "MULTI MONITOR" in the motherboard BIOS else it's automatically disabled when the GTX970 is installed.

So you have to enable that or remove the card.

If you want to use it for a second monitor (non-gaming) that's fine though it will use some of your system memory so I wouldn't allocate more than 256MB of video memory to the iGPU.

*You'll also need the Intel video drivers for the best experience and for that I recommend using the ones the Intel site recommends. Use auto-detect but you must have the iGPU enabled or it won't detect it.
