Hi,

Im pretty worried right about now. I got a new case and cooler. So I wanted to put all my parts in the new pieces. I powered off the system touched the case in case of Anti Static Discharge and did this regularly. Set everything up in my new case and now power is only active and case/lights start coming on only when I remove the CPU. Is it dead? Or is there other things i should try?

Only got my 2700x a week ago too so I'm pretty worried.

Specs:
PSU: XFX 750 Pro XXX
Mobo: x370 Gaming Pro
CPU: 2700x
Ram: Vengeance 2x8GB 3000Mhz

Solution

you have the speaker connected to the front panel and no beeps with no RAM or CPU?
experience tells me the motherboard is gone if you are positive the PSU is working. the PSU could also be issue, it may not support enough load to post the system
try it outside of the case, at this...
It was all working in another case. Now that it's Into a new case it fails. 8pin and 24pin all check and check again.

Not sure what is wrong. Everything was literally working just before I moved everything.

a quick refresher on grounding
shut down system and remove side panel. with the power cable plugged into the PSU touch a bare unpainted metal area of the case. (my favorite spot is an unpainted screw securing the PSU) once you have grounded yourself you can unplug the computers power cable from the PSU and can touch the system.
if you move your feet, or shuffle in your chair, plug in the cord, reground yourself and unplug again.

step 17 is there a speaker connected to the front panel connector? do you have one? can you make one?
go down the list is covers most minor issues that are often overlooked

canned diagnostic speaker rant
The diagnostic speaker is the motherboards main diag feedback device.
the motherboard may be telling you where the problem is.
my speakers have this plug

I use lamp wire but any stranded wire will do. literally any stranded wires. strip one end like so
http://www.antiquelampco.com/Shades/CordColors.jpg
attach the stripped end into the speaker spring clips on the speaker.
the other end of the wire should be trimmed like so the semi strip
https://wesbellwireandcable.com/images/cutwire.png
by doing a semi strip the wire case is now the socket.
plug one wire to the first pin, and the second onto the fourth pin.
power on the system and listen for beeps
end canned rant

are you getting any beeps with a speaker connected and the CPU installed? are you getting any beeps from the speaker with the CPU removed? you should be getting the CPU error beep sequence. if nothing replace the CPU and remove the RAM and try to boot the system with no RAM. if you cannot force a diagnostic code this way it is my experience that the motherboard is faulty. the pattern of the beeps is the motherboard diagnostics, check the motherboard maker for an explanation of the beep codes

does the system boot when removed from the new case (bread-boarding)?
are you sure there are no standoffs that should have been removed/installed that is causing a short behind the motherboard?

Thanks for the response. I dont get any beeps with the CPU in. No power on what's so ever. I have all the front panel goodness including speaker stuff. But yeah did a lol testing and I get no beeps at all.

I've tested no CPU and ram. No ram with CPU. And nothing and the results are the same except CPU has no power still. It's all on standoffs so I doubt it's shorting. Should I just try it outside the case even though I'm pretty sure it should be fine?

try it outside of the case, at this point there is nothing to lose
