my bet is its more a case of packet sniffing than just being in the games themselves (its not just warcraft. If its a major online game, they monitor it. World of Tanks, HALO multiplayer, World of Warcraft, Star Wars The Old Republic.

It is all such nonsense. A potential terrorist must be a complete moron to use electronic devices to communicate his plans. They are pretending to prevent attacks while in reality any lunatic can enter a school and start shooting. And criminals gangs are long using all kind of secret codes that can not be broken by computers and protect them from incriminating them when overheard.

We are only creating a large scale system that one day may be turned against the population by less democratic forces. The fact that government is now using secret laws and processes and secret convictions, and even condones illegal operations that violate core civil rights, or misuses presidential orders, does not build trust.

We are creating ever bigger security systems that have to wage all kind of wars to protect their funding. They are not protecting us, we are protecting them and giving them ever more money.
