nt ws "safe mode" alternative?

i know there is no safe mode in nt, how do i get into a system that keeps locking up so i can remove the offending software?

....the birds seemed to be calling him, thought caw....

That's a pretty haphazard way of uninstalling a program. What if it's a service that's running that's crashing? can't remove it that way.
The safe mode of NT is called "VGA mode". It's that second option you get when you first turn the machine on.

the original poster didn't specify anything other than "alternative to safe mode". My suggestion was an alternative to safe mode. no?

why not? Just rename the serve .exe that'll work.
