Here's what puzzles me:
We lost our (DSL) internet connection for 30 minutes yesterday. During that
time, some of our client machines were UNABLE to ping NT servers (in the
LAN) by NAME. I could ping them by IP address and got 4 replies. When the
internet connection came back on, I was able to ping NT servers by name.

My question is, since we have WINS in our LAN, why does the internet
connection matter? This is really weird. Btw, we only have 1 subnet, 1 NT4
domain. What I noticed was that Win95 machines were the ones that couldn't
ping NT servers by name. I got no problem with Win98 machines.

Anyone?
