The earthquake-damaged reactor vessel at the Japanese Fukashima nuclear power plant has exploded. This could be hundreds of times worse than Chernobyl. Dangerous levels of radiation could travel across the pacific ocean through the prevailing winds and into the entire western half of the continental united stats. Most of northern Japan could be rendered permanently uninhabitable. This is one of the worst disasters in all of recorded human history.

According to the map below, radiation levels as high as 750 RADS per hour will reach the entire western half United States in about 10 days time. Millions of people in America and the world across could die from radiation sickness within the coming years. There could be martial law declared in the US along with mandatory evacuations and stations where the government will hand out iodine and other anti-radiation drugs. A lethal dose of radiation is around 500 RADS.

This is very, very bad.

To be socially responsible I am calling this totally incorrect and closing the thread.

What occured was that the water in the work circuit (driving the turbines) around the pressure vessel split into oxygen and hydrogen ... due to loss of coolent pressure.

This was vented ... the hydrogen gas exploded ... blowing the colourbond roof off the structure.

This is currently the official explanation.

Coolent for the primary side ( due to loss of pump pressure ) has bow ben replaced with seawater, and boric acid ... to bring down the temperature of the core.

This effectively kills the core as a future working reactor ... provided the pressure around the reactor primary and secondary cuiruits can be lowered enough to remove all of the fuel rods.

There ise no evidence that the core pressure vessel has reptured, or that a criticality issue has arison.

Either provide facts to refute my claim in a new thread or go away.

There is no need to frighten people with FUD.
