I have been getting many bsod crashes throughout this year, 11 in total which may have been all I’ve had on this computer since it was built in April 2018. Recent ones have been caused by ntoskrnl.exe with the latest 3 crashes “caused by address” of ntoskrnl.exe+3f6c20, ntoskrnl.exe+3f5e40 2 times in April, and ntoskrnl.exe+3f5c50 in March. Crashes before March had a crash address of ntoskrnl.exe+3f5a80 with different driver names and ntoskrnl.exe+3f5780 in Jan.

Originally I had an AMD Radeon HD 6870 and Kingston Hyperx DDR4-2666 2x4GB and then later added 2 more same sticks to make 4x4GB. I put in my brother’s EVGA GTX 1050ti superclocked as an upgrade, installing geforce experience on Sept.18, 2020. I swapped the ram with my brother’s Gskill DDR4-3200 2x8GB because he upgraded his motherboard and CPU around Jan. 3, 2021 (from my userbenchmark date). For drives, I added a Silicon Power m.2 nvme in Jan. 16, 2020 as an upgrade and mirrored my Kingston a400 ssd. I added a Seagate drive in Aug. or Sept. 2020 which came from a desktop that we didn’t use anymore and recycled.

Crashes have happened while I was running Roblox (always when I play “Ultimate Driving” but I don’t think a specific Roblox game has to do with crashing), on idle, looking at a webpage, running an android emulator, and maybe more. I noticed a pattern with the crashes happening in the middle of to later in the month, some happening days apart. No problems happened in May as you can see from my dump file dates.

Here's what I remember from when the crash happened.

Jan. 17, win32kfull.sys+155f86 - Might have been running Nox android emulator on Instagram maybe with browser open on webpages, felt like computer was under some load?

Feb. 21, tcpip.sys+75dcc - I can’t really remember this one but I might have been playing Roblox or browsing?

Feb. 22, dxgmms2.sys+b843 - I was playing Roblox at the time as I remember having what seems to be directx crashes and it was dark early morning which was pretty scary.

Feb. 26, dxgmms2.sys+db4e - Similar to Feb. 22 pretty much, but I think I had lights on so it maybe wasn’t as freaky. Looked around online for discussions, found that it might be a graphics driver issue. Clean install Nvidia game ready drivers, no directx crashes since.

Mar. 31, ntoskrnl.exe+3f5c50 - Probably playing Roblox, middle of night. Tried to look around online for discussion, heard about memtest, so I downloaded it and ran it in 2 copies 3gb sizes during the day while I was away with no problems, ran memtest built into windows and had no problems after checking event log.

Apr. 18, ntoskrnl.exe+3f5e40 - Playing roblox again I believe and crashed in middle of the game.

Apr. 23, ntoskrnl.exe+3f5e40 - left computer on idle around dinner time, came back to computer on lockscreen from being rebooted, check bluescreenview and found a crash.

Apr. 25, FLTMGR.SYS+57d8 - Playing GTA 5, tabbing in and out of the game and web browser, at some point at the beach near the pier there was audio corruption-like screeching and loud static which I recorded, weird and scary, tried to see if audio was working on other programs, played video on browser which I could hear quietly so that means audio was happening only in GTA 5 application. Closed the game by force exit, start game again from steam, computer crashed while loading.

Jun 16, ntoskrnl.exe+3f6c20 - After having no problems for over a month and a half, computer crashed while Roblox was running. Since the crash happened at around 6, I was using my computer at 5 to maybe around 5:50 which was when I left the game and computer idle until I come back at around maybe 6:15 to see my computer at lockscreen/had rebooted. Check bluescreenview and see a crash

Jun. 17, ntoskrnl.exe+3f6c20 - Web browsing on wikipedia and computer crashes suddenly. Clean install game ready driver after this crash and checked for windows updates which was up to date.

Jun. 19, ntoskrnl.exe+3f6c20 - Playing Roblox as usual, hear my audio freeze like any other time my computer crashes while in game, freak out a bit and get chills. I guess this means my graphics driver update didn’t fix the issue.

I’m not sure if KMSpico has anything to do with this but I have used it since Feb. 2019. I don’t even know if the problem’s related to my graphics drivers or the card itself. I have a feeling my problems are from my RAM since it is the latest hardware change that all the crashing came after but with the memtest showing nothing, i dont even know anymore. The graphics card was used in my brother’s computer since it was built in Jan. 2018 until he upgraded to a 1070 and RAM was bought on Aug. 25, 2020 and installed around that time. If I remember correctly he had black screening happen to him while the card was being used (if its related?) but has never happened to me. But otherwise he had no crashes when these were in his computer when I asked him (and i dont think he has had any at this point either!)

Very frustrating to have crashing seemingly at random, mostly while gaming, while I don’t recall having any crashes happening before this year. I had planned to write about this problem back in April but never got around to doing it until similar problems happened AGAIN this month and it's taking me about 2 hours to write this which is crazy. After having no issues in May, I thought the computer was alright but it seems like nope! Thanks for reading all of this, would appreciate the help with this problem.

this is used by windows to talk to LAN drivers, so I would update your realtek drivers.
Download Win10 Auto Installation Program (SId:1152921505693508652) from https://www.realtek.com/en/componen...0-1000m-gigabit-ethernet-pci-express-software

direct X was indeed likely to be gpu drivers.
filter manager is less clear, its used in alkmost any file action which is 50% of what windows does.

NTOSKRNL = windows kernel. It handles all driver requests, power management, and memory management. It sits between Hardware and Applications. It got blamed but its not the cause

i will ask a friend to convert dumps and see anything else to blame.

The nvlddmkm.sys file is a NVIDIA graphics card driver. There are a few things you can do to fix this problem. First off, try a full uninstall using DDU in Safe Mode then re-install the driver (more information). Or try getting the latest version of the driver. Or try one of the 3 most recent drivers released by NVIDIA. Drivers can be found here: http://www.nvidia.com/ or you can allow Windows Update to download the driver for you, which might be a older/better version.

Possible Motherboard page: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AB350M-Gaming-3-rev-1x#kf
You are using BIOS version F22. If you are using Revision 1 of the motherboard, there is a BIOS update available for your system. Wait for additional information before deciding to update or not. Important: Verify that I have linked to the correct motherboard. Updating your BIOS can be risky. Never try it when you might lose power (lightning storms, recent power outages, etc).

This information can be used by others to help you. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.

looks like too many BSOD just for it to be all Nvidia. Its part of it for sure.

@gardenman nm3 is part of windows - Microsoft Network Monitor 3 Driver (just letting him know as it shouldn't be in driver list)

update realtek lan drivers, download Win10 Auto Installation Program (SId:1152921505693508652) from https://www.realtek.com/en/componen...0-1000m-gigabit-ethernet-pci-express-software

update Icue, latest version is 4.12.214 (I just got it) although it was victim of 2 crashes, updating it won't hurt too much... maybe rgb colours might change. they changed entire app recently.

update AMD Master
try updating chipset drivers - https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/b350
try updating vpn software
Try updating/removing MSI Afterburner

lets see how far we can go without a bios update as its complicated.
  1. on that board he has to get F40 first, then
  2. decide if he ever intends to put a new CPU and more than 2 sticks of ram in PC , as there is an update that has to be done before bios flash. If he doesn't, he can skip the EC FW Update Tool, and
  3. then he can update to F50a
and most of the bios updates are for newer CPU

Thanks for the help guys! @Colif I ran the Realtek driver auto installation and it had installwizard complete it. I first updated icue to 3.38.61 but found their downloads page having v4.12.214 so I uninstalled the icue v3 and installed v4, works like it did before. I updated the chipset drivers with your link. I uninstalled softether VPN build 9666 and installed the new version, build 9756, works the same as before also. I had an older version of msi afterburner, tried to update but it said "up to date", so I went to the afterburner website, downloaded, and installed 4.6.4 beta 3. So far no problems, we'll see how far I can go without crashing... I was wondering about my latest 2 crashes, since I see the process as svchost.exe. Any idea what program might have caused the problem and anything I can do to fix it?

svhost is part of windows, it stands for service host and almost every process that runs in windows has one, so it makes it impossible to say what actual cause is unless its spelled out in the dump files, and obviously it didn't or I would have mentioned it :)

before a certain version of win 10, there were only about 14 service hosts, as processes were grouped under them. Now there is a service host for every process - just look in task manager, scroll down, you can't miss them.
having them ungrouped doesn't use that much more ram and is meant to make it easier to isolate causes... though not sure how.

@Colif I was just about to say things have been alright with the computer and I have had no crashes for about 2 weeks (since Jun 19), but it just happened again... Opened sisoft sandra application, clicked the mainboard section for information, and sudden crash while loading. Crash address ntoskrnl.exe+3f6c20 like the past few crashes, bug check PFN_LIST_CORRUPT 0x0000004e. Uploaded minidump file to Google drive folder link mentioned above. Thanks for your help.

I figured it out this time, but please provide a new link each time to a new folder with only new files. Otherwise I have to go back and search for the link, and try to pick out which files are new and which aren't. Thanks.

I ran the dump file through the debugger and got the following information: https://jsfiddle.net/9nmqy05h/show This link is for anyone wanting to help. You do not have to view it. It is safe to "run the fiddle" as the page asks.

File information:070421-8500-01.dmp (Jul 4 2021 - 17:19:08)

Crashing driver:
Aug 07 2009Sandra.sys
Assuming this file is from SiSoftware Sandra, a System Analyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant tool. If so, it's a 2009 driver. I would remove the software.

@gardenman Alright, I will try to give links to new files. It's kinda odd that you say its an old driver since I installed the program on Sept. 6, 2020 and even the name says "SiSoftware Sandra Lite 2020". After the crash, I tried to do the same thing again (open application and click on mainboard information) and it worked fine, I even used the program to list my specs in the original post. I could try to reinstall it, maybe look for a new version. Thanks for your help.

@Colif This is a new crash that just happened a number of hours ago so you wouldn't have mentioned it. I added the minidump right after the crash. This is the first crash from SiSoftware Sandra that I know of.
I'm not sure if it's weird or a problem for a 2009 driver to be in a program I downloaded and installed in 2020... Will download a new version and see how it goes

Then it's a new program (or version) that the programmers decided to use an old driver with. That's not good. I suggest that you remove the software from your system. It may or may not be the issue, but it will help eliminate it as a problem.

Use DDU to uninstall Radeon drivers.

Very old BIOS. Update like @Colif said

Sorry for the late reply but I used DDU when I switched out the 1050 ti for a 1060 6gb so thanks for the suggestion. I followed the comment of upgrading bios as a last resort so I haven't done it as I had no crashes after upgrading and reinstalling programs and drivers (except for the sisoft crash which I reinstalled), thanks for your suggestions.

Try running memtest86 on each of your ram sticks, one stick at a time, up to 4 passes. Only error count you want is 0, any higher could be cause of the BSOD. Remove/replace ram sticks with errors. Memtest is created as a bootable USB so that you don’t need windows to run it

do you still have your old ram?

Thanks guys. I haven't gotten the chance to run memtest86 yet but I did do a Windows diagnostics memory test back in April I think. I had both ram sticks in when testing and had to look in event viewer to find results which said it passed. My previous ram (4x4gb Hyperx) is being used in my brother's computer, so I will need to return it if I can, if ram is the problem.

Just had a crash as well just now. Left home while computer was on for mining, a little after I came back, my mouse light was off and keyboard had no lights and then came on frozen (probably from restarting), then I turn my monitor on and see my lock screen. I just saw a notification for iCUE update if that has anything to do with it. Crash address ntoskrnl.exe+3f71d0, bug check 0x00000133 but no string. Dump link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vnnKVjucYCFiBJxZO9qMyOCzSsVAH87V/view?usp=sharing

I put my 1060 into the computer on July 15, 2021 and installed driver version 471.11 downloaded directly from the nvidia site.

process named is victim, not cause
strange it crashed when it wasn't even running on desktop. or was the game reduced?

got enough VPN software?
Dec 07 2020tapprotonvpn.sysProton TAP VPN driver http://www.protonvpn.com/

i don't know if they are the cause, I can't really tell.
I seemed to be getting more DPC errors than normal (Not me personally, just seeing more). DPC - Deferred Procedure call. Normal operation of the CPU, whenever something has to be done NOW it causes an Interrupt in the stream of processes being run and a DPC is the starting point for where the processes that were stopped for the interrupt are to start from again, so that CPU can continue to do what it was doing. Too many failing to continue processing. I am not sure why I am seeing more of them.

So with fps unlocker, I have it run on startup and then minimize to tray, it stays on even when I'm not playing roblox. In Monday's case, the fps unlocker app was minimized to tray (running) but I wasn't playing, so there was no game open.

I use Softether VPN regularly but I'm pretty sure I was not using it when it crashed as it was only mining. I have build 9756 from when I installed it in June but there is a new version on their site. I haven't used Proton VPN in a while which I could remove.

Thanks for explaining about the DPC.

Just got another crash... Watching videos on youtube, clicked the "go back to previous page" button in the top left corner of browser a few times over a few video pages kind of quickly. Then I get a blue screen. MEMORY_MANAGEMENT 0x0000001a, ntoskrnl.exe+3f71d0.
