I'm planning to buy nvida geforce gt 640 1 gb gddr5,
is it compatible with my computer? My spec. is listed below:

Processor: AMD Athlon II X2 250 Processor 3.00 GHz

Memory (RAM): 6.00 GB

mobo ;asus M5A78lMLX2
450 w psu odeyssey

Yes, as long as your motherboard has a PCI-E x16 slot you should be fine

Well, you haven't listed your mobo and that's the important bit. However, if your mobo has PCI-E slots, then you're good to go.

An AMD HD7750 GDDR5 is a much better buy.
Both are fully compatible if the above is true.

The 7750 doesn't require a PCI-E power connector, the 7770 does, the card should work fine with your motherboard as long as it has a PCI-E slot

SOME of the boards will require a connector if they are factory overclocked.

Try looking for a different version. There are many to choose from.

No, it does not. No bottleneck present.

Should not be an issue, although i never suggest no-name PSUs, the HD7750 uses VERY little power.

As per it u have 10A on +12V rail. That is not enough to add a discrete GPU. Also what's ur HDD and do u have a DVD drive

10A x 12v = 120W.
That PSU provides not even CLOSE to enough power.

As i explained earlier, this psu doesn't deliver much power to add a discrete card. Ur system is only hanging by a thread, this psu is just barely managing to deliver power to ur current system.

U may also need PCIe power connectors for higher cards.

here is a psu that u can use
Corsair VS450
(this is not the best psu only good at its price point)
