i want to by this laptop ....

15.6" LED Backlit Display with Truelife and HD resolution (1366 x 768 Pixels)
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 820M with 2GB DDR3 VRAM
...... can this laptop Running Medium or high Engineering design programs and what about playing high graphics games

Not sure about the engineering side but on the gaming side its not good. Many newer games wont run at a playable fps.

for gaming you need at least gt (x)50 (550-650-750) and this will give you ok fps on low medium resolution.

I have Intel Core i7-4500U and Nvidia GeForce 820M with 4GB RAM and I run GTA V on high texture, high reflection and high water quality and the rest is low and off and set the v-sync to half so locked 30 FPS all the way thourgh and I'm not getting fps below 30

I also overlock the memory clock to 1200MHZ and it gives me 5-10 FPS boost in other games 😀

It will be okay for 1366x768 at low detail settings, but some games like The Witcher 3 won't run well even at that.
