NVIDIA Control Panel only offers 60 FPS

Hello,

While looking around in the NVIDIA Control Panel, it is only offering me a 60hz refresh rate. I have the HP Omen monitor that supports 144 hz.

Odd thing, is that the Geforce Experience FPS counter goes well over 100 in many games, so I am slightly confused.

How do I change the refresh rate limit to 144, or is it even affecting me?

On a side note, "HP Omen monitor" doesn't really tell us anything, there are a lot of HP Omen monitors.

You'll need a Display Port connection or dual link DVI to be able to get higher refresh rates. HDMI, standard DVI, or VGA are only going to get you 60hz.

It's all in your connection, man. If you're not using something that will support the higher refresh rate, your rig isn't going to see it.

EDIT 2: Also seems that my monitor came with one of those display ports. Sweet!

Well.. I am now connected via DisplayPort and I still do not have the ability to select it. I am 100% sure that the monitor has a 144hz refresh rate. I made sure of that because I have a pretty decent PC and I know I will go above 60 a lot.

Make sure you are selecting the refresh rate from the PC section of the resolution list.

Make sure that your settings inside the monitor are also set to 144Hz (though the Nvidia panel should address that).

Holy... thank you that worked! I would love if I could pick two best solutions because it was a two pronged issue.

Wow even just on my desktop and browsing the internet I feel an immediate difference. Amazing!
