Hello
My PC crashed and now very time I try booting into Windows normal mode I get a BSOD saying there's a problem with nvlddmkm.sys (which is the Nvidia display driver). It only lets me boot into safe mode. I downloaded the recent driver with the intention of doing a clean install but it won't allow me to install it in safe mode ("unable to install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages for Visual Studio in safe mode"). How do I get the Nvidia driver to install in safe mode?

Update: figured out how to uninstall the display driver, wiped out all remains of Nvidia drivers and then clean installed Nvidia drivers yet the problem still persists. Still can't boot to Windows no matter what with Nvidia drivers installed. It doesn't BSOD anymore, it just shows a black screen until I force shut down the PC.
Could it be a faulty graphics card?

Yes, a bad video card can cause this. You did not list any specs of your system or any background to the issue though for any trouble-shooting. Did this just start out of nowhere? Often we get posts without details and after people post for a day trying to figure out what is going on, it turns out the motherboard, CPU and video card were replaced before the issue started or something similar.

Here's the specs:
Asus P7P55D-E PRO
Nvidia GTX 480
Intel i5 655K

I've been using this system for over 5 years without replacing any components and lately I've started encountering random Nvidia display driver crashes. They never caused the entire system to crash though until now, and now Windows won't boot with the Nvidia driver installed. I tried doing a system recovery as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the Nvidia driver multiple times to no avail. I'm currently using the default VGA driver.

I'm starting to get this issue after installing Nvidia drivers. I got this horrible artifacting on my screen, so I rebooted. Then I got this same error. It may not be a bad video card, but it may just be faulty Drivers. I have a GTX 950 by the way.
