So I recently upgraded my old hp dv9417cl to windows 10. When we had it upgraded... We didnt realize that the pre installed geforce go 6150 would not be recognized anymore which leaves us with the windows basic display adapter. The resolution right now is leaves alot to be desired. Is there any way to make this compatible with windows 10? Ive youtube a few different ways to do it and had no luck. Any suggestions or cheap alternative paths to make it look better?

Hi, I would read this whole page before trying anything. I did read that someone had to change resolution after installing the driver (in the comments).

Another possible page with help:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10/fix-for-windows-10-compatibility-with-nvidia/6f800d48-ab3f-4634-9b5d-727e9572ce51

I can't exactly help you with it. I don't have a 6150 or anything to test it on. I hope one of these pages help. Good luck.

I have an old HP m8417c media center computer and I have gotten the geforce 6150 hardware to work under the Win10 anniversary update release (v1607 build 14393) by installing the 309.08 x64 driver listed in the ivanrf.com web site.

However, it looks like newer versions of Windows 10 [like the fall creators update - v1709] won't be able to reliably handle the geforce 6150 with the 309.08 graphics drivers and crash into a blue screen.

I'm sticking with the 1607 release of Windows 10 and will not upgrade Win10 to newer releases because of this. The 1703 creators update release of Win10 should be fine but anything newer, the 309.xx drivers may crash into a blue screen error.
