4 yr-old Dell Inspiron 530. The cooling fan on the Nvidia video card is starting to chatter all the time. Considering a replacement card since, though old, the rest of the machine is still fine for what it's used for. But I'm not sure what specs I need to consider for a replacement. No gaming, 3D capabilities needed, just basic single-monitor display. What would prevent a random new $30-50 card from working in the system? One card I found mentioned a minimum 350 W power supply, while the P/S in this Dell is only rated for up to 300 W. Is that the most relevant spec I should cross-check?
