I'm looking to hook my desktop up to my Sony Bravia 32"LCD TV for movies and gaming, and while trying to decide which output to use, I came across this dillema.

I have a Gigabyte MA785GMT-UD2H Motherboard with an onboard ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics card. The motherboard has VGA, DVI, and HDMI outputs.

I am currently using an Nvidia GeForce 8500GT, which offers VGA, DVI, and S-Video outputs.

My TV has VGA, HDMI, and and component inputs.

I have been using the 8500 via a VGA cable and an audio cable, but I was thinking of switching to my onboard 4200 so I can use one HDMI cable.

How do these two options compare? Is one of these options clearly superior? Should I purchase a DVI to component cable and test each of them?

Thanks in advance?

8500 GT all the way plus you could just use a DVI to HDMI adapter or cable from Monoprice.com to hook up to the TV. Although you still may have to use a separate audio cable depends...
