Nvidia GeForce FX5500 NOT WORKING! help?

I installed the card and get no response from my monitor, What could be wrong?

My Specs: Dell Demesion 4550
2x/4x support
Agp slot (no pci-e)

Uhm, no response from monitor, could be lots of things...

Dodgy card may not be working, try testing it in another PC if you can.

Need new drivers, pretty simple one to update....

Did you just get and install the card for the first time?

You could try reseating the card.

The card IS compitable, you are putting in the AGP slot, correct?

Yes, I am replaceing an AGP card, my old card is in right now and working fine.

i assume this is a p4 system? if its one of those ones that is black, and has a dark grey front, like my dimension 4600, then it comes with a 200 watt power supply...

Also, I tried a nvidia 7600 but it wouldnt work either. I found that it was a 8X card and it had molex power adapter. The monitor wouldnt even try tp power up (light stayed orange) with this card the light turns green but doesnt display anything.

my system has diagnostic lights, the bad card I am replacing the lights show a code for "video controller failure" the new card I installed does not show and diagnostic codes. What do you think?
