Well I bought my GTX 260 back in march for 159$ after MIR. Talk about a score - now almost all my game run at medium-max settings smooth as butter.
Two years ago when I built my q6600 machine, I put a 100$ x1950 pro in it, and I was very happy with that card for 100$. At the time I couldn't justify buying a GTX 9800 for 400$
This past year was the time to upgrade the graphics card. End result? I got a x1950 pro to get me by till the GTX 260 dropped in price, and I got a much faster card than the GTX 9800 for about 150$ less than the 9800 would have cost me at the time.
They say patience is a virtue, and I agree especially when it comes to upgrading
