Question NVidia GTX 1080 tearing

While playing Subnautica, I've seen some tearing. I'm using a Samsung 55inch UHD 4k Smart TV as a monitor and I'm running my resolution at Native 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz. Is the tv the problem?

Most likely, yes. I have (likely) the same HDTV and it definitely does some wonky stuff with fast moving images.

Also, your GTX 1080 is underpowered for playing most games at 4k 60 fps; it might be that you are dropping below 60 fps often, which then leads to tearing.

Hi COLGeek! I would like to close this question and I've not been able to find a way to do this without picking a 'Best Solution' For this question, there hasn't been a solution, other than I've decided to buy a new VRR TV. I feel that leaving it open clutters up the boards and I also don't like leaving loose ends like this. Can you help me?
