cpu - amd fx 6350 black edition
gpu - nvidia gtx 660 2gb ddr5
ram - corsiar 8gb 2x4
1tb hard drive 7200rpm

is this a good build and will it work together correctly?

Solution
Put these parts into pcpartpicker.com and update your post, it will also automatically check basic compatibility such as motherboard and cpu and gpu.

Yes these components will work only issue most people run Into is the gpu being huge (the gtx 660 is quite large)
So use a corsair carbide 300r as example it has huge amounts of room qnd would fit this rig a ok.
But as far as your basic components yes they will work together.
I would say throw a few extra bucks and get a gtx 760 instead $50 more but way higher performance.
But your rig you have there will work and do its job well.
Lastly just make sure to get a Am3+ mother board with that otherwise that amd won't work.
Just type in am3+ mobo on newegg or amazon there is loads of options some pretty cheap yet good.
