I built a PC for a friend about 10 years ago that is giving what might be memory problems. A quick and easy check is to just replace the 4 DDR3 memory chips. The existing chips are:

F3-2400C11D-16gsr ddr3

I need to solve this problem quickly for him if possible and 16gb DDR3 chips are a week to 10 days out on Amazon. However 8 gb DDR3 chips are available for next day delivery. So to see if we can quickly solve the problem I'm just ordering those. My suspicion is that my originally putting in 64 gb of RAM was a bit overkill anyway.

The G.Skill Ripsaw chips I can get are:

G.SKILL RipjawsX Series (Intel XMP) DDR3 RAM 16GB (2x8GB) 1600MT/s CL10-10-10-30 1.50V Desktop Computer Memory UDIMM (F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL)

Question is whether or not these will be compatible with his motherboard which, unfortunately at this point I don't have the info on. But bear in mind it's 10 years old. Also, most likely it's a Gigabyte board as that's what I usually used.

Probably not enough info without the MB data but thought I'd take a shot at asking.

Thanks,
BH

We're going to need to know the make and model of your motherboard before we can recommend a ram kit. Include the processor that's paired on your motherboard to see if the ram can be taken to their advertised speeds, let alone the capacity being supported.

You can identify the make and model of the board using it's labelling but if not, shoot us an image of the board and we might be able to identify it without much hassle. You can host your images on a site akin to Imgur and then pass on a link for us to see.
