I built a PC for a friend about 10 years ago that is giving what might be memory problems. A quick and easy check is to just replace the 4 DDR3 memory chips. The existing chips are:
F3-2400C11D-16gsr ddr3
I need to solve this problem quickly for him if possible and 16gb DDR3 chips are a week to 10 days out on Amazon. However 8 gb DDR3 chips are available for next day delivery. So to see if we can quickly solve the problem I'm just ordering those. My suspicion is that my originally putting in 64 gb of RAM was a bit overkill anyway.
The G.Skill Ripsaw chips I can get are:
G.SKILL RipjawsX Series (Intel XMP) DDR3 RAM 16GB (2x8GB) 1600MT/s CL10-10-10-30 1.50V Desktop Computer Memory UDIMM (F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL)
Question is whether or not these will be compatible with his motherboard which, unfortunately at this point I don't have the info on. But bear in mind it's 10 years old. Also, most likely it's a Gigabyte board as that's what I usually used.
Probably not enough info without the MB data but thought I'd take a shot at asking.
Thanks,
BH
