Nvidia GTX 980 Ti Armor 2x

Building my first rig and I managed to find one of these for a steal but I'm curious as to why the model has been discontinued.

Does anyone out there have any experience with this GPU?

Also, why is the GTX 1070 priced so low? Aren't larger model numbers supposed to correspond with better performance and cost... what gives?

Ok, one more question. 980 Ti or 1070?

I think the price is very fair for the great performance.

The model has been discontinued because the GTX 1070 is faster, and cheaper for Nvidia to produce.
