I laughed out loud. Thanks.

[citation][nom]apache_lives[/nom]Issues still exist on for laptops AND DESKTOPS with nvidia - i still end up sending batches of 9800GTX+'s away and still see 8600's and 8400's being replaced by the boxload - ill pass thanks nvidia, ATi for my next choice.I laughed quite loudly.[/citation]

I just had my 12 month old 2 X 8800M GTX from my Dell 1730 crap itself on me. Coincidence? It certainly wasn't dust build up. (Hats off to Dell for the lightning fast replacement/fix, btw- 2 days after phonecall!)

So are the gtx 300 series just going to be these chips rebranded? seeing as they are 40nm, dx10.1, and gddr5 I can see them doing that. Maybe a change to dx11 while upping the frequencies and with a larger power consumption. Its like the one guy that actually invented completely new shit at nvidia died or something and all they got left are CUDA programers and PhysX programers.

Having to deal with them frequently, I have found dell to be excellent for warrantee repair and replacement. their service department seems to do a great job compaired to others. Now if the computer just wouldn't break in the first place......

Putting aside the shortcomings of mobile computing, these enormous designs for desktop graphics cards aren't doing anyone alot of good either. The industry has proven they can put a good gaming experience in a much smaller package.

A graphics card does not have to be 12 inches long and take up two slots to be a good performer. If designers took on the attitude of "Think smaller" than it would be easier to shoehorn these chips into a notebook.

I think a shake up in the way we cool laptops is in order too.

[citation][nom]AlexTheBlue[/nom]Hmm, small GPUs and using a 128-bit bus with GDDR5? Where have I heard that before...[/citation]
DirectX 10.1, don't forget :)

On older ages, with 3Dfx chips it was possible to put any number of them on the same card. I read a review with 10 chips.

If nvidia cannot improve his chips, should design them the same way, so the user chooses how many chips to buy.
