Nvidia on a 144Hz Freesync display?

Not sure how Nvidias Adaptive Vsync works on this type of display, with my long suffering R9 290 starting to show its age and Pascal so close to release I'm wondering what results I'll get with this GPU/display combination.

At current Nvidia does not support activesync(freesync). They use G-sync

The monitor will work fine, but that feature will not work. Adaptive v-sync will still switch regular v-sync on[when over your refresh] and off[when under] as it always has.

If it will in the future is unknown. Nvidia invested time and resources into its own system so I am not sure if they will support any other setups.

What I was thinking, after all Feesync is just, to all intents and purposes, AMD taking advantage of already installed hardware on many high refresh displays.
Looks like I'll be looking at the release data of Pascal very, very closely.

It is kind of a downside to features that only work with one companies products.

ActiveSync(The DispplayPort feature) should be able to be used by any company, but no one wants to cut into a product they already sell.
