Marketing and more marketing... I don't have to adopt nor agree with basic economic theory: It's NOT static and doesn't always apply. And in the consumer market where people are ignorant of something’s production cost price X, but ASSUME it's current price Y is "fair," they are shorting themselves. Of course people don't HAVE to buy anything, but being people are HUMANS with often flawed emotions at the controls—hence why MARKETING dominates many businesses’ models. Ploys and hype blah blah play off human emotions and eventually CON people into paying more than they ought, and making irrational purchases. Hence why I'm using a perfectly functioning 8800 GTS USED off Ebay for nearly 50% off Vs the typical irrational/impulse shopper who spends full price + markups. Denial of impulsive shopping and marketing ploys to the weak minded or easily fooled cannot be denied.
Spout all the jargon you want, but the fact remains: when people are shelling out $100's of dollars for cards that can barely play today games at mid-high settings/res, and are soon to be out dated with in mere months... The market is fixed... Hence why the legendary Radeon 9800Pro and its ability to formerly play games years after its release is OVER. Gamers are being duped into buying cards that won't even budge a newer title: fancy graphical misrepresentations on boxes of games, reviews and the like—all part of the marketing con to get people buying into buying mediocre cards soon to be outdated by another rushed model. It's called technological-METERING buddy. And if you can spreaaaaaaad out as many models of cores/cards as you can and keep people constantly buying, while they are getting very little in return for their full price upgrade, you'll be rich fleecing the flock. Hence PRO's for big business to fix prices and METER out minuscule core/memory updates, while the user shells out FULL price—a fixed price that keeps big execs fat and idiot sheep sheared. Apparently YOUR touting of Econ 101 leads to you getting an ego trip by reading your own words and NOT effectively affecting anyone's perception about smart shopping... lmao, enjoy and keep your nose in a book, nobody else cares.
I love it... by YOUR assertions, MARKETING depts wouldn't even be needed if everyone followed Econ 101 to the letter as it is "supposed" to be followed…As flawed logic dictates in a trite online debate, but in REALITY it's hardly the case. Your logic makes sense in a theoretical niche, BUT in real life it’s flawed b/c LIFE isn’t always nor hardly “logical.” Blame the victims, and slap the wrists of cheating businesses; yeah I can tell what side of the mental spectrum you’re on…RIIIIGHT?
