Nvidia ShadowPlay Help

I have used Nvidia ShadowPlay in the past for twitch streaming, but ever since the latest update (350.12) I cannot share my desktop anymore. Now, I believe I can only activate it whenever I am in a game like League of Legends. Is it still possible to just stream simply my desktop anymore? Are there better methods out there, preferably that's free or does not cost a lot. If anyone can figure this out, thanks.

GPU: ASUS Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 (2GB)

Go to your shadowplay settings in the geforce experience, you can enable it from there.
