Yes your 24K Gold iPhone definitely looks better then everyone else's regular iPhone.

You may care about looks... I don't. Not sure what iPhone has to do with it either... or 24K gold. I guess you're salty about something?

All I care about performance... but go ahead and save your money and buy that 8GB card so you can post in another 6 months about how you don't have enough VRAM for the latest games and it's all Nvidia's fault.

Now allow me to say thanks again to this fellow forum poster...
You couldn't be more right. Your posts in Tom's Hardware, influenced me towards buying 4090, and haven't regretted it ever since.

If paying for "overpriced" GPUs is inevitable, i'd rather buy an overpriced technological masterpiece, than an overpriced piece of trash, which i'll be looking to sell in a few weeks.

People who love gaming and are looking to buy a new GPU, but don't have an abundance of money to spend, will do well to save their cash for the top class player, which is 4090, in order to ensure the longevity of their rig.

I know a lot of people won't agree with that, but i've come to realize that this is the best way to save money in the long term.

Trying to do your job with an insufficient graphics card, will leave you unsatisfied. I've been down that road.

Compromises, cost dearly.

This guy gets it.

Blink Blink...

I'm doing very good right now, no need to buy any GPU's anytime soon. That being said, the 4090 is a terrible purchase just like the 3090 and Titan RTX were. It just happens that the entire 40 series are also terrible purchases.

My suggestion to everyone is to steer clear of any 40 series card and either wait under after this fall's releases or even next generation. If someone absolutely needs something, like they have a 1060ti that is about to die, then there are still 3070 or 3080's out there that will get the job done.

The 24K Gold iPhone meme holds true. A 24K Gold iPhone is definitely the best iPhone you can possibly buy and will, without a doubt, attract the most attention and let the owner brag the best. It's also 10K USD and would be the definition of a vanity purchase that people chuckle about when the owner walks by.

But the 5000 series is going to be better? Don't hold your breath on that.

Again... it's all about performance... for 4K Ultra you need a 4090. The other cards don't cut it. For my laptop I could have went with the mobile 4090... but 2560x1600 doesn't require it... so I went with the 4080 and saved the $600.

Performance.

It's funny you mention that about the iPhones... I honestly had no idea a Gold iPhone even existed. I'm assuming you're not trolling me but I should probably check Google. 🤣 I just have a Yellow 14 Plus. It's not even a Pro Max. 😳

I can definitely see where the iPhone meme comes from though. I remember when the first Face ID phones launched... I actually saw threads over on the Apple forums where people said "I bought this iPhone so when I take it out of my pocket at the bus stop people will look at me with envy."

A true post! LOL... for the record I could care less what kind of a phone someone has but it's funny that there are people out there that think an iPhone is some kind of a status symbol. Maybe it was back in 2007 but sure isn't now.

Also... when I read that comment "envy" wasn't the first thing that came to mind... it was more like "bro, instead of upgrading to that latest iPhone you should have upgraded from a bus to a car."

Apple fanbois are strange.

New GPU sales have been in the toilet this entire generation, Toms had an article on it recently, you even posted about your 4090. The value of this generations cards is so bad that Intel's new offerings are starting to actually look good, let that sink in. Next generation has to be better or nVidia is going to be in serious trouble with AMD not far behind. Though I think AMD is watching the market's response to nVidia's new marketing model of releasing terrible overpriced products and will attempt to steal market share with better value offerings.

And yes I provided the link to where you could buy a $10,000 USD 24K Gold and Diamond covered iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB. I wouldn't of memed you with it except you can't go one thread without posting about how great your 4090 is. Just like the guy who makes it a point to always be on a call with their 24K Gold and Diamond iPhone 14 when there are other people present.

Intel's cards are garbage... just like AMD's.

When Intel takes over the GPU market I'll come back here and post that I was wrong. 🤣

The 4090 is great. The benchmarks prove it. Whether or not you choose to find value in it is your problem. The benchmarks also prove the rest of the 4000 series sucks.

When every post I see is full of people crying about GPU prices you better believe I will post from the other side of the fence... and we've had at least one poster who gets my point and bought the 4090.

Call it bragging if you want... but what do you expect me say? "You're right man... this card sucks. I blew $1600 on it and I all got was 60 fps in 4K Ultra with RT with the card at 50% utilization!" Why am I paying so much for only half usage of my card's capabilities?"

(I actually saw a post from a guy the other day who wanted to know why his card wasn't hitting 100% utilization and he wasn't getting what he was paying for) 🤣

Just like the guy who makes it a point to always be on a call with their 24K Gold and Diamond iPhone 14 when there are other people present.
Sorry didn't click... but I'm sure those links you posted were full of more salty delicious tears. 🤣🤣

I'm gonna bow out of this thread now and unfollow... nothing else to see here. We can definitely agree to disagree. 👍

Glad someone also calls this out. Your example is exactly on point here. We all get it, they enjoy the performance of their card. They talk about repeatedly... I just roll my eyes when reading this guys comments.

The $699 1080 Ti was 6 years ago... there is no way that a top tier card like the 4090 would cost $699 in 2023 given the way the market and the world economy has went the last 6 years.
and there is no way, a card " could " be a 3rd from the top( asuming there could of been a Ti and a Titan above it) card should cost 2200+, again these are the prices the Ti and titan " should " of cost if they existed. but thanks to the minors, and those who still buy these ( STILL ) over priced cards, nvidia will keep charging what they do for them, i expect the 5090 to start at 2500 ( or more ) here when that card is released.

that 699 1080ti would be 873, allowing for " the way the market and the world economy has went the last 6 years. " lets say 1000. there for the 4090, by ANY common sense, is over priced period. keep in mind, you have stated the 4090 you have cost you 1700 or so, thats at least 300 more then what it should cost,by, seemingly, your own logic.

As I said upthread... premium PC gaming should command a premium price. Even in a perfect world at a minimum the 4090 should be a $1200 card IMHO... but the world isn't perfect.
no the 4090TI/ titan should be a 1500 card, not the 4090

Big pipe dream you got going on there.
nope, i just dont see the value of a 2200+ video card, regardless of the performance it brings. for me its not worth it, for you, you obviously think it is, to be fair, im sure there are others that agree with both our view points.
That's just it, the 4090 is a Titan, only with it's name changed to dodge the "lulz overpriced" label that got attached to it during previous releases.

The 3090 was $1200 msrp. That’s 60% performance for 33% increase in price
exactly, yet, its a good 500 more then that.

According to my search the 3090 Ti was $1999 at launch in early 2022.
still 400 more then it should be.

I guess you're salty about something?
at times it sure seems like you are salty about something, as well.
All I care about performanc
and you obviously dont care about paying through the nose to get that performance :)
But the 5000 series is going to be better? Don't hold your breath on that.
it as palladin stated, it HAS to perform better then the 40 series, if not, then nvidia is going to be royally ridiculed for it, specially if they price their cards at the same prices the 40 series is, or more.

Intel's cards are garbage... just like AMD's.
oh why is that ? cause they dont support DLSS or have RT thats as good or better then nvidia ? thats the only 2 things that make nvidia's cards worth the money, and if you care less about dlls and fake frame generation, as wellas RT,then nvidia loses a bit of its advantage.

I wouldn't of memed you with it except you can't go one thread without posting about how great your 4090 is
that he does :)

not if there are no games on it that a person wants to play, then that xbox and ps5 becomes an over priced paperweight... not to mention, the price of the xbox, just went up. so i dont think buying a console, is a viable option any more due to cost when a person could have a usable comp already, and just needs an upgrade
Bought a PS5 with VR2 headset; absolutely hate it due to lack of games, discovery that I don't like controllers.

Not to mention, it will allow you to purchase and download games that don't work, and then Sony tell you you're ineligible for a refund.

Needless to say, big expense just to play Blu-ray discs.

I'm well overdue for replacing my 2018 Threadripper build, but to be honest, there's nothing on the market that I feel is good enough, not the 4090, not the 7950X3D or the 13900KS gas-guzzler. Sure, anything and everything will be a massive upgrade over what I have, but where we're at, I can't bring myself to buy anything because I want next-gen everything! First-world problems 😀

I did build a $5000 system for the wife, with a 4070 in it; it seems like a nice card.
