I just got my shield a few days ago. It's a neat little device but the screen is too small and it's difficult for my old eyes to read and navigate the game menu and options prior to launching a game. I'll play around with it a few more days to see if the updates make a difference but I'm considering returning it at this point...

Wait a minute.
- This thing is useful only when you're at home.
- It streams games on a small screen(whats the point at home?) and have an option to connect to TV
- It costs $250
And the most dramatic:
- It DOESN'T support ALL games.

You can buy HDMI cable/wireless connect it to PC + some PS4/PS3/X360 gamepad and PLAY ALL games. So whats the point of this Nvidia's [removed] over here?

-They have GRID now, which lets you Stream your games from your PC anywhere, not just at home :)You gotta have good broadband, but thats with anything. Whats got me excited is the proof of concept. Nvidia has proven that people want this, and the future versions will no doubt have bigger screens, and faster hardware (its already fast anyhow)-the point is you dont have to sit in a chair at your desk to play your pc games, play anywhere, on the toilet, layed back on the couch, etc...- It cost $199- whoop-tee-doo, it supports all N64 Games, All PSP Games, All SNES Games, All Gameboy Games, All Playstation 1 Games, and 100 PC Games, plus 1000 Android Games with native support.hehe you guys are silly

Still not seeing the advantage to Nvidia shield over my Galaxy S3 with a Moga Pro controller. I'll gladly sacrifice the PC game streaming service for the $150 difference. I'll still have Android games, emulators and one less device to carry around with me.Now if I didn't have a fancy gaming rig OR a smartphone, now you're talking. So really the prime demographic is non-jailbroken iPhone users, lolzif.

Yeah.. What's the point? If you need a PC in close proximity to stream these games then you may as well get a wireless games controller and play it of your PC monitor or big screen TV connected to your PC.If it was a cloud based games streaming service then I'd say its quite a deal, but even then the games are not designed to be viewed on little midget screens.

Seeing at most people reaction and Nvidia sales Nvidia has proven that people don't care for a special device just to stream video games only when they have proper solution to completely use everything that is on their PC through other means. Hence i have access to all my file on PC through inernet, though i won't actually use them for work without atleast notebook by my hand. And streaming games throughout the net from your own PC is a stupid idea, ever heard of flaming? Wanna try some? Sure it may not happen but leaving your PC working just to play games while you outside is stupid to begin with, whats the point of going outside then? I have a good place for my file server(not main workstation that consumes much more power) that even if something goes wrong it won't do anything bad to my living place, how many people in the world made precoutions?
Also your example is strange. Noone is going to play games while going to bathroom, if you someone like this help him because this is addiction and must be cured.

If Nvidia would

If you don't like it then just shut up. You get damn good hardware for 200 bucks. I don't like android gaming but that GRID is something new. It's not perfect(yet) but it's about innovations nvidia's trying to bring in. I use this in the garden where i don't have a tv.

Except you dont have access to the 100+ Tegra Zone Games in the Nvidia Shield Store that are optimized for Tegra Hardware. If you just want a android gaming platform then ouya or your phone will do, but shield does way more.

I don't understand the Shield hate. I am an adult with a spouse and a job. When I come home from work, I don't always want to hole up in my office to play a game -- I've already been sitting in "PC position" for 10 hours. The Shield enables me to continue advancing on my library of PC games (and increasingly Tegra-enhanced Android games) on the couch or in bed, while remaining available to my wife while she reads or watches TV. The Shield isn't some half-baked controller you snap onto a phone. It's a high-quality device that is great for gaming and provides "bonus" utility for other tasks (e.g., I frequently use it for Kindle, Netflix, Facebook and other apps I never thought I would use on a "game machine"). This is a niche product, surely, but it's perfect for the niche it is designed for. If Nvidia continues to play its' cards right, the Shield -- or the technologies Shield employs -- could make a big impact on how people game in coming years.

i got a shield around a month ago, and while i was underwhelmed at first, its grown on me as time goes on. i got it primarily for frequent trans-pacific flights, both for the form factor and the absolutely insane battery life, and its perfect for that purpose... its also a very capable media player, and paired with fpse i have all my old psx games readily at hand as well. streaming my pc games to the 65" tv is pretty awesome too, ill admit.

its worth noting, however, that i got mine for $120, i might be less happy if i had paid twice that...

Re-title this article. Meme's don't belong in reviews.

This site should not in anyway use memes when reviewing important topics. This is a technical site, with a high degree of dignity/integrity/wisdom for helping & reviewing tech related stuff. This is not Reddit or 4chan. When making an article of relative importance such as an NVIDIA driver review, and considering this is Tom'sHardware, don't make meme references in the title. Be a bit more professional like what we expect from this site.
Honestly I thought I was having a stroke or something when I was trying to read the title until I realized it was the doge meme. Someone who doesn't know the meme wouldn't understand the title (which is the most important part). Especially considering the doge meme has been and still is a relatively obscure one.

Bah, I posted on the wrong article and can't delete it. Was intended for a nvidia driver review. Ignore the post I made. Downvoting it myself haha.
