I was down voted initially, unfortunately. But Apple has one of the best SoCs on the market, and refusal to acknowledge that is just unfortunate, to say the least.

I think it might actually be the fastest mobile SoC available.
Funny, because all of these other dedicated manufacturers can't pump out something on-par with something from a company who's only designing these things for one phone. (Although I guess they can put all their resources into few designs instead of many different SoC's that manufacturers have to)
 
The SOC wars are a good thing for everyone. The PowerVR series 6 (Rogue) should be appearing this spring. And you can bet it will be in Apple SOC's. I do wonder though why others don't license their tech. Is it a more expensive license? Expensive or not, they really perform.
 
It impresses me how much more powerful the SoC's are getting in such short amount of time. I hope it doesn't slow down. Heck I am writing this on a Samsung Chromebook with a dual core exynos 1.7ghz processor and the thing just flys for normal web browsing (and lets be honest that about all it can do) and makes all the netbooks I used in the past seem slow im comparison.

So if we can keep pumping out good SoC's I like to see how far we can take this tech into the more dedicated laptop/PC market. I am hoping for a cheap $150 or so arm based chromebox that I can convert into a server/web browser. Or something along those lines. We already hit the point where normal web browsing and general used is more than adequate for these things.

No, it's a well known fact that GLBenchmarks runs best on PowerVR GPUs. Unfortunately no one benchmarks what really matters, the games itself.

That's still not a game scannall. Neither is GLbenchmark 2.5. There are unreal based games out, Id has some games, surely one has a benchmark built in (timedemo or something) or is this still NOT the case? With so many games out why do we see all benchmarks with simulated crap that means NOTHING? For once I want to see a review with ONLY games tested for the gpu benchmarks. As in REAL ACTUAL PLAYABLE FREAKING GAMES! I'm shocked some game dev hasn't built one in by now if for nothing other than advertisement since all web sites would begin to use THEIR game in every phone/tablet review. Is this really still a problem?

Get with it man! Stop using junk benchmarks and start testing out these types of things that can give us some REAL gpu data. Synthetics are nice to see bandwidth, if your adjustments are getting you anywhere etc, but not for FPS in an actual game. Even if it isn't available on ios you can at least show perf of android devices (which for some of us is the only thing we'll buy...LOL shown by the 74% market share of android I guess).
 
A GPU with that many cores has me both stoked and worried at the same time. Some of the current model graphics cards have massive coolers as it is. Makes you wonder if this thing will have to have its own liquid block or something just to stay cool enough.
 
NO worries. They're shoving these into phones (one already announced) so I'm guessing it doesn't need liquid cooling 😉 We are talking 1/10-1/20 the desktop cores (gtx680 has 1536, amd has 2048 cores).

You're talking desktop's that need that, we're talking a puny SOC here :) It should finally get NV into phones in a big way. T3 wasn't good enough for that, though a good tablet soc. This one will be great at tablet (2560x1600 or below anyway, god forbid someone tries to force the res up even more on these before 20nm), and good at phone. I say good at phone, because we don't know the power yet. It should have no trouble in a tablet since T3 did fine at 40nm. I'm sure they designed T4 to at least fit inside T3's envelope or they'd risk losing a lot of designs.
