"sigh" That probably means the regular 660 won't even be close to the $200-250 sweet-spot. And just when I'm about ready to throw my money at Nvidia, too! Hopefully this isn't true.

And just like that all of the rumors of the legendary $300 gpu are gone. No single gpu to rule the price/performance ratio.
But hey, because you waited so long for the card, why not buy it anyways?
Well done nvidia. This is a great example of manipulative marketing at its finest.

I have a friend whos dad used to work at pny. When the pny version of the 660 ti comes out I could problably get it for $150. His dad gets over 50% off as a discount. I was thinking of getting the 670 but my power supply is 550 watts and has a max of 30 amps; not enough to power it. I hope the 660 is lighter on the power and could run on lower than top of the line currents.

i would buy 670 if it only 50$ different. on some mem heavy bandwidth games, there is 20% performance hit. but 670 to 680 is still perfect, only 2-5% hit. so yeah,, 256bit is still a matter.

That price is nowhere near true.

Prices here in Scandinavia (I live in Norway), are far higher than in USA.
We pay the price for an American GTX 680 for a Norwegian GTX 670.

It's $400 in Sweden, which is in Europe, which means that in the US will cost around $325. Keep in mind that GPUs fall in group of products that cost X $ in US and same amount but of euros in Europe. But even if it comes with $400 price tag don't forget that it beats GTX 580 which goes for $430 to $650 on newegg.com

Nobody takes into account, the power draw, scaling and how much bang for your hard earned buck.
Which are better than 670's.
But personally, I think 660 will be better than 660 Ti like the former ones, 560 and 560 Ti.

You can't take that into account because the card is not out yet, and there's no word on pricing, also the 560 is worse than the 560 Ti.

So how does the "TI" moniker make it different from other cards? Guess they didn't have enough digits and letters (GT / GTX) to work with, eh?

Hmm... That's what it should it really be, $350 (in my opinion). Because there is not much difference compared to the 670 (I am sure performance wise too). So $350 would still be an excellent price for a card ~5-10% slower than the 670. Still a better option than a 7950...

Maybe you're confused on how can they get $350. First, it's an aftermarket ASUS DCUII Model, which is usually $20 more expensive. Second, it is from Sweden so Prices are much different. If you consider these things then, We will see this:

2804 SEK (That's the price without tax!) is equal to $418 and, because it's an ASUS DCUII model the reference price could be $390. In america it would probably cost $375-$350... So yeah that's it.

I was hoping for $250 - $300. These cards are manufactured on a smaller die so I took it for granted that they would be priced near the 560 ti when it was released.

Pre-order listings for video cards are always significantly higher than the street price after release. Savvy retailers hope to cash in on those willing to go for a pre-order before competitive pricing kicks in.

It's all relevant to the going rate in that particular country. A GTX 670 on that same website goes for 4699 kr.
