So this is a really random question that more or less just popped into my head.
"When did NVIDIA start changing their spelling?"
It started in 1993 as nVIDIA.
(There may have also been an nVidia in there somewhere.)
Then at some point, it transitioned to Nvidia.
Now, if you go through through their website, any reference to the name is all caps... NVIDIA
At some point, their corporate branding department had to have said, "Going forward, all spelling of our name in any communications from corporate will be all capital letters."

It's like the evolution of eMail --> Email, and gMail --> Gmail

🤷🏼‍♂️

I don't think it matters in the end unless you're in marketing, where you have to make sure to adhere to how they want it done.

However, I think it's always been "NVIDIA" and stylized as "nVIDIA", especially considering they themselves have been doing the all caps since at least 1999 (https://web.archive.org/web/19991004034809/http://www.nvidia.com/)

EDIT: I found the web archive goes back to 1996, which was around the time the NV1 was released. They were still doing all caps.
