Im looking to buy a NVme m.2 ssd but I dont quite know if my motherboard is compatible.

The ssd im looking at is the Samsung 500 GB, 970 EVO SSD and it has a PCIe ''protocol'' I assume that protocol in this case stands for connection type. My motherboard is the Gigabyte Z390 UD it does have an M.2 slot ofcourse but I cant work out if the ssd im looking at is compatible with this M.2 slot, maybe this is a stupid question but ive never worked with NVMe M.2 ssd before.

Thanks in advance for your help

Solution
Yes that M.2 is compatible with that motherboard, the spot to connect it is just above the white PCIE slot (it's the grey vertical tab).

And the screw above the black PCI slot is what holds it in place.
