Hey all I am looking to upgrade from my 1tb HDD to either a sata ssd or an NVMe . My Mobo is a gigabyte A320m s2h , cpu is a ryzen 3 1200 , have 8gb ddr4 , and a GTX 1650 4gb gpu. What would be the best route? 1 tb NVMe or a combination of a 500 gb NVMe for my OS and games and a sata ssd for additional storage? Thanks for any info .

What do you use this system for, what is your budget, and how much drive space do you need?
All factors in "what drive"
Mainly I ( and my kids ) game on it and the kids watch vids. I play WoW pretty regularly and I'd like to stay below 175.00 . Currently my HDD has about 300 gb used . The main problem I have is the boot times and load times for games.

Have you considered as an alternative using the old HDD as the secondary (storage) drive while adding an SSD for the OS? SSD speed generally isn't needed for bulk storage of media, and getting a single 500GB SSD minimizes the cost of upgrading.
That was also an option but wasn't sure how well the SSD and HDD would play nicely as the HDD is about 8 years old.

OK. Well I wouldn't refer to it as "playing nicely;" HDD speeds (particularly compared to SSD) haven't changed that much and SSD+HDD remains a common configuration. Concern for the lifespan of an older drive is understandable though.

If any files are particularly important, there is no replacement for backup (redundancy) of course.
