Hi,

I have a Samsung nvme m2 ((PCIe 4 M.2 2280 ). When I use it inside of a nvme enclosure, it doesn't show up on my mac or pc. However when I use a powered nvme cloner, it shows up on both the devices. I tried a different one (same model) it gets detected on the Mac and PC without an external power adapter.

What could be cause for this?

TIA

Not sure I could have guessed that from what you wrote. Are you saying you have multiple of the same drive, or more than one of the same enclosure?

Exact model of everything would be somewhat helpful in answering.

Could be as simple as the USB ports you are plugging into offer more power.
