Hello!
I am looking currently to upgrade from my old HDD to an SSD(And preferably an NVMe M.2 gen 3 x4 SSD for better speeds). I was looking at the Samsung 970 EVO Series 250GB PCI Express x4 M.2 2280.
However, I am not quite sure if it will work on my motherboard. I've bought it only a year ago. It's an ASRock A320M-HDV. And I have 2 questions whether my motherboard will support the 970 evo or not:
1) My motherboard only has 1 PCI express 3 x16 slot and 1 x PCI Express 2.0 x1 Slot. Does it require a physical PCIe 2 x4 slot? Or is the NVMe slot enough?
2) The SSD does not appear in the supported list on the mobo manufacturer website. Is this a guaranteed thing that it will not be viewed by the system? Or is it a buy at your own risk (Might or might not work)
Given that the motherboard launched with Ryzen, not even 2 years ago, it would be pretty sheepy for me to have to upgrade the motherboard again. (Given that most TLC SSD's are not on the support list)
