[SOLVED] NVMe SSD not being detected on m.2 slot on Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H

Hi all,

I picked up a 256gb Toshiba XG5 SSD NVMe SSD and tested it on my laptop and it worked great. It even had windows installed on it. However, when I put it into my Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H m.2 slot, it's not being detecting in the BIOS at all. I'm fairly certain this model has NVMe capability.

I wanted to ask if there are any specific BIOS settings that I'm missing?

Solution
NVMe SSDs do not appear within the BIOS until Windows creates the system partition with the EFI Boot Sector.
