I am having major latency issues, seemingly caused by NZXT CAM, making this software unusable and hence unable to use any of the display features on Kraken 240 or set the pump and fans to anything except the fixed defaults. Whenever I have CAM running (minimised to system tray) any audio source, whether locally stored music, streamed content, YouTube etc or games, produces frequent pops and crackles, usually several times per minute. This stops as soon as I exit CAM. LatencyMon confirms major latency issues that start as soon as CAM is launched, and stop as soon as it is closed. It reports that the problem seems to be connected with Nvidia drivers, presumably somehow interacting with CAM.
I raised a ticket with NZXT and they asked me to send logs from CAM, as well as captured clips of the problem. I did this, and then they closed the ticket saying they had to refer it to the CAM development team but without any indication of when or even if the problem would be solved. Utterly useless.
I've googled this a lot and found some similar reports, without solutions that worked for me, but it doesn't seem to be widespread so I am wondering if it's specific to my hardware. Specs as follows: Asus X670E Hero; Ryzen 7800X3D; Kraken 240 AIO cooler; 32GB G-Skill 6000MHz CL30 RAM kit running in EXPO II; MSI RTX 4090 Suprem Liquid X; Corsair 1000W PSU; various NVMe and SATA SSD storage; Windows 11 Pro. BIOS and all drivers are up to date.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
