NZXT H440 - Window replacement

So, I tried to clean the window for my H440 and this cleaner has something in it that melted the acrylic of the original window -_-

I have a local glass merchants that can make a glass window for the case; question is do glass windows work / look okay in cases? I would love it if anyone with any experience or more know how than me could let me know 😀 Thanks in advance!

NEVER clean plastics with chemicals!
Just get a piece of perspex from a hardware store, cut it out and replace it.

would have to be tempered glass i would think--perspex will be much cheaper--how would you attach glass?

A neighbour cleaned his cars plastic headlights with some cleaning agent a few years back.......They became blurred and started melting. Expensive lesson learnt.

hardly any cases ship with glass windows so that should give a clue that there are reasons why they use perspex

Yep I have definitely learned my lesson the hard way :') BUT I don't have any of the tools required to cut a new piece of perspex; guess I'll have to get all of that too; thanks!

should be able to cut perspex with a hacksaw blade or a stanley knife even a jigsaw though that would be more risky you need a fine toothed blade and the jigsaw at top speed

It would make a great fish tank after using it as a PC if glass were installed. 😉

not saying you cant use glass--in my opinion yes it would look better than perspex/acrylic but you would have to see how much it would cost and ask the glass merchant about any potential issues using it on a pc case such as temperature changes and vibration and would have to be more careful if transporting it somewhere

lol--reminds me of those fish tanks where they submerge the pc in mineral oil--though they didnt put fish in as well obviously

haha; I feel i deserve to turn it into a fish tank -_- I didn't think this cleaner had any acrylic killing chemicals in it, i think it must have alcohol in it -_- thanks for all the help though, going to pop and get some perspex then; last thing i want is to put glass in that causes more issues :')

hey we live and learn-- at least with perspex you only need cheap tools most people already have to do it yourself
