Hi, so I have done as much searching as I can I contacted nzxt support and they suggested I start by getting the pump to run at 100% because right now its only running at about 50% with 30# fan speed. I went into BIOS and looked set cpu fan min and max to 100 but no result because it is not a 4pin. I then grabbed a 3x 4pin male to 4pin female and tried it same result. the only other thing I can think of is to connect it to the fan controller on the NZXT Phantom 820 and put it at 100%. It does use a sata connector for the power and internal usb 2.0 for controlling the fans on the radiator. Would this be a good Idea ? (Mobo: ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0) I hope I am just missing something. would appreciate any help or ideas, thanks.

To run the Kraken X61 fans at 100% manually you have to download CAM https://cam.nzxt.com/. Once you have that installed, under manage select the Kraken or add it if isn't there and then select it, then go to the window that has the core temperature and liquid temperature, look for the word 'Edit' click on it and a bar with +/- and fan speed will appear; click the + until your fans are at 100% then save changes.

I understand I could do that but that would make the computer VERY loud.

btw the cpu is a FX-8350 stock with at 1.236V not 1.404 so It should run about 28C-30C on idle and 40C on full load I have looked at the performance with an 8350 and that's what they get.

Maybe I'm not understanding what you're asking, what I understood was that you want the Kraken to run at 100%, which means that you need to max out the fans and hit around 2,000 RPM and the pump hit 3360 rpm. Sure it's loud, but if you want your pump at 100% then that's the price you will pay.

What temps are you getting right now?

The pump is controlled by the cpu header or any header you choose. the fans are controlled by the onboard usb 2.0 header. I don't know how I can put the pump at 100%. Example: go to BIOS and tell the cpu fan to run min 100% and max 100% for me this did nothing.

36-38C idle and 47C after playing COD advanced warfare that is far too hot for a vcore of 1.236-1.260 and a radiator of 280mm even with the radiator fans at 30% and all case fans at 30%-Estimated. cpu usage at 50-60% gpu ASUS Direct CU2 r9-280x

You are not describing what you want correctly.

In bios the CPU_FAN needs to be set at 100% power to deliver all 12v to the Kraken. All the 3 pin does is provide power to the Kraken pump. The USB communicates with the software and the kraken. It will change the pumps RPMs and the fan speeds.

I am not sure what setting you have the Kraken at or how you are coming up with the temps for the CPU. Can you fill us in on that? What setting are you trying to get to 100%?

To customize separatly the fans and pump speed you need to plug them directly to the motherboard. In this video it is explained well how to do. Also you will find some acoustic test.
