Hi
Short Story:
So last night I was playing games with my friend's and I had the steam browser open (in game) watching a review of a mouse, it was fine at first then my game started lagging/stuttering like crazy, so I thought it was the video, so I lowered the quality, no difference, closed the steam browser, no difference.
I then noticed that things on my desktop and other stuff was lagging/stuttering too, so I restarted my computer. Once it loaded up it took a while to login (using an SSD), programs like Discord were taking forever to load. So then I used HWMonitor to check my temps, and they were high 90cs and I think sometimes 100cs.
My CPU is an i5 4690k, nothing is overclocked.
Hopefully I haven't damaged my CPU at all doing this because I didn't even know what my temps were in game considering it was nearing 100c on my desktop.
So, now when I look in the BIOS the CPU temp starts low, then creeps up and up and carries on. Stopping it at around 60c+
Now then, does this just sound like my pump has just died on the spot? Because nothing else was changed, this purely happened randomly whilst gaming. I've unplugged and plugged everything back in, re-applied thermal paste, so basically re-seated the water block/pump part.
I can't feel even a slight vibration with the PC on and me touching the waterblock, although I'm not sure I ever did.
Couple of things to keep note of here -- When I first got the cooler, which was just over a year ago, when I first turned it on it was making a gargling/watery sound, which actually just went away a bit later, so I thought it was nothing as idle desktop temps were perfect of like 22c and around that. A good few months later (can't remember how long later but it was a good while), I noticed that my temps were very slightly worse, something like I think 30c+ idle desktop temps? I noticed this inbetween changing my i5 4690k to an i3 4170 which I got given to me, which I decided to use just for the crack of it.
Now obviously you guys will just say you know 'RMA it with NZXT' which I will if I can't do anything.
Now my question is, is there anything else which you guys think it could be?
