NZXT mix 2 with 3 pin fan?

so i know that this controler got 4 pin connectors but wanna know if a 3 pin still can be control by it or not?

3 pin fans can be controlled by this fan controller, just because it has a 4 pin connector doesn't mean 3 pin fans aren't compatible
