Nzxt phantom five fan controller

I just bought a new nzxt phantom case I'm worried my fan controller is faulty. It's not a low medium and high. It's a exhoust and intake controller but On the box it says it's a speed controller. Can anyone clarify this for me

As far as I can tell it is a slider controller that does control fan speed (all fans at once). Toward the + symbol to increase speed, toward the - symbol to decrease speed. I would be very surprised if it controls fan direction since most of the time changing fan direction would be counterproductive, there would be no advantage to having that option built into a PC case.

The phantom 001 red edition has the five different controllers on top it supposed to control each fan individually I think I'm call nzxt cause I don't think its normal I always thought it control the speed but my controles the direction the fan spins
