NZXT's Phantom Chassis Makes Way For 7 Fans

7 fansnothing new ,really though two slots beign fitted for 200+ mm is awsome, but stil hell, my coolmaster centurion 590 holds 7 fans with 4 spots able to mount 140 mm's fans ( the two top spots and two on the side) the rear takes 1 120 , and the front can take upto 3 but technically only 2 since most people do like having optical readers.further moreteh centurion 590 is a wide mid size tower with swapableHDD bays so its lighter than a fulltower ,yet it has all the room you need for big CPU heat sinks and massive vid cards (about 13 inch clearnce if you position the HDD bay up higher , if postitioned at the bottom of the case it wil take any video card you try to fit in it. lol sorry for the long run ,just think this is by far the best "no frills" case ever made , too bad coolmaster stoped making them , i will likely hang on to this one for my next build even, i just can't understand why more mid towers ,don't have the swapable HDD bays.
 
Mid towers strictly running on air using a standard ATX mobo require more or faster fans than full size towers that house the same mobos because of condensed heat in smaller space. Larger cases allow the same heat to spread due to more open space. A similar analogy would be taking off the side panel which instantly adds more space for the heat to travel.

A good rule of thumb is if you stress your system and experience a temp drop with the side panel off then it means your case needs better cooling.
 
NZXT has never made a chassis with good airflow. I've worked on four of them myself and they make no sense no matter how many fans you have shoved in there.
 
Anyone still remembers the Coolermaster stacker pro 830 SE? It has place for nine 120mm fans!

And looks cool too :)
 
i got the nzxt gamma , real killer case, space for 4 140mm fans, and 2 120mm fans, water cooling grommets, front facing hdd bays for longer video card support, and lower mounted psu, e-sata front port, great case for the money
 
Ah NZXT, they always make beautiful cases. I am perfectly content w/my Cooler Master HAF 922 and Thermaltake v3 but if I had a little extra cash I would buy a NZXT just for the good looks.
 
This DOES come off like an advertisement. Was one thing BAD said about it? Personally, I think its ugly. I'm entitled to an opinion. Check my constitutional rights. Furthermore, who cares about 7 fans? My Thermaltake Kandalf has at least that many. Three in the front, one in top, two in the rear, a big one on the side...granted, I had to put some of them in myself but that's what a REAL enthusiast does. :)

Case exteriors are usually "love it", "hate it", or "meh". I think there are some great mid-level cases out there (such as the HAF 932) but when I look at them all I think they are "meh". It is a personal preference.

I looked at the white NZXT Phantom and instantly loved the look. After watching half a dozen reviews I knew it is an excellent mid-level full tower, so I pre-ordered one from Amazon.

I called NZXT and they said they will be available Aug 11th. They would have been ready sooner, but they made some changes (such as sturdier side panels) based on reviewer comments, so they delayed launch.
 
I already have mine built. Cable management is a dream. Lots of cutouts and 1 inch of space in the back.
