Regardless of all the issues with the president's or Sony's response, I think this movie has become something of a pointed 'we will not tolerate terrorism in America' and I for one AM DEFINITELY going to the theater to vote with my money. It MUST be played in theaters! I won't back down from North Korea, and I hope that Sony, President, and all of you feel the same.

I don't think it's fair to judge sony at all. It's easy for anyone else to say "don't cave in" when their company, employees and financial interests are at stake. Did the white house offer them any protection??? No. Did anyone step up to help sony should north korea retaliate against them. No.

Unless your going to stand up to North Korea on sony's behalf, then there is no room to judge. If North Korea hacked your families bank accounts, maxed your credit cards, took your wifes/daughters nude photos hostage, lets see you all talk now.

Yeah, it was a mistake because it wasn't really North Korea that did it. Most likely a former or current disgruntled employee, considering how well the attacker seemed to know their networks. At the very least, it was a westerner, considering the cultural references being made by the attackers.

I don't agree. The very name "Guardians of Peace" makes absolutely zero sense, though probably makes sense in an asian language. Probably sounds right to the north koreans, but leaves all us Native English speaking people scratching our heads???

From Ben Stein:

"Various Hollywood people are telling us Sony should not have called off the release of the movie, that it was "cowardice." Mr. Obama has said it was a mistake.

"We cannot have a society in which some dictator someplace can start imposing censorship here in the United States," said the president Friday.

We have to fight back, said the Beautiful Hollywood People.

WHAT? Get serious!

The North Koreans are easily crazy enough to blow up movie theaters where that movie is showing. EASILY!

Would you want to be Sony, carrying the liability for that, morally and financially? Of course Sony had to call it off. I wouldn't call it cowardice; I call it prudence."

-Google "Sony was prudent to scrap "The Interview"" for the CBS story link.

Wouldn't be at all surprising if the same people lambasting Sony for "caving" would be the first ones to rip them a new one if they DID release it and something bad happened. Integrity is lacking in the human race.

This guy is saying they made a mistake pulling a film when he has cost us far more lives, not to mention trading terrorists for deserters.

hoofhearted, the hack didn't occur at the Sony Japan headquarters. It targeted Sony Media Entertainment only, which is an American subsidiary of Sony Japan. The employees who suffered the leak of their personal data information are American citizens.

For my part, I think it is unfortunate that this "news" article was posted on Tom's. It has little if anything to do with technology, and is flame bait. If started as a thread in the forums, the type of responses it has received would have had it quickly closed.

The reason why i could never get into politics. There's a lack of common ground here and i think it doesn't help the issues at hand.

On to whether Sony made a mistake in pulling the movie, it's their call. They could have pulled it for other reasons such as rescheduling the release date and as i have read, it was the movie theaters that chose not to show the movie. Now i just read that Sony is trying to get the movie in theaters. I think the whole thing was staged but that's just my theory.

Please, calm down folks, it's just a movie. If we want things to change in our favor, it's best to work together in a respectful manner. :)
