Hi guys,

just updated CPU and mobo to 8700K and Asus Z370A with an air tower cooler and 16GB of DDR4 (2666)
Don´t have any idea about OC, so I did the ez-tuning wizard in the ASUS BIOS and afterwards I checked with CPU-Z and it was giving me just over 5000 MHz on all cores, bus speed of 103 and RAM frequency of 4400.
This looks like a lot to me with only an air cooler, but again, I have no clue.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

For your 8700K @ 5Ghz or higher, I would recommend an AiO cooler that is either 240mm (2 x 120mm fans & radiator), or 280mm (2 x 140mm fans & radiator). Examples of this type of AiO cooler are those from Corsair Hydro series and NZXT Kraken series.
Make and model of your tower cooler? Most don't perform as advertised for a number of reasons. If you don't have an idea about overclocking, first read about it and then perform a baseline overclock from which you can move up or down with.

Might it be possible to pass on your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:

Lastly, please state your ambient air temps (in your room).

I will as soon as I´m back in my studio. Thanks!

Actually, I think I can remember everything:
CPU: Intel i7 8700k
Motherboard: Asus Z370a
Ram: 16 GB Corsair 2666 MHz
SSD/HDD: multiple SSD´s
GPU: Geforce 1030 GT
PSU: INTA Audio 650W ultra quiet power supply
Chassis: Bitfenix Shadow
Cooler: Gaia Ultra quiet copper pipe cooler
Lastly, please state your ambient air temps (in your room): about 20-22 degress, in the summer much warmer (Barcelona, Spain)

Thanks!

Ah, makes sense - though, I would have told you to buy a Ryzen 7 8-core CPU, or even a Threadripper 12 or 16 core CPU. Way more bang for the buck 😀

Ah damn, just bought it two weeks ago...
Next time I’ll ask you guys before I upgrade :)

Hey Lutfij!
Did you see my last post with the specs?
Thanks for your help!
