So I got this setup about a year ago and Ive gradually updated it but I want to overclock its cpu. Only problem is that when I go to turn up the clock speed it wont go past its default. Sorry if I sound stupid... xD 750ti, 8gb ramm, g3220 in case its important my motherboard is a H81M-K

Sorry, but it seems that motherboard actually does not allow overclocking on the CPU at all. Some people have said they have overclocked on that board though so it's kind of a mixed bag.
What you can try is go to the manufactures website and download the latest bios for your board and then try to increase the multiplier.
Other than that most people have said that that board does not support overclocking.
If you want to overclock you'll need a z97/z87 board.
