Oc My 1080

when oc my 1080 i get it to plus 140 core and it will be at 2070 then 2050 and then settle at around 2038 any ideas why this is happening?
 
Solution
That is Nvidia Boost 3.0 doing its thing. The card will auto downclock the boost all the way to stock speeds because of a number of reasons. It is mainly lack of voltage, but it could be TDP or heat.

Nvidia locked these cards down so much you can't cause any harm, subsequently that means your stable 2070 clock goes down because of the auto software built into the drivers. Nothing you can do about it really.
