OC MY NEW SPEC.

Hello guys,

Im going to purchase a new pc soon and i want to hear your takes in OC'ing the CPU.

THE SPECS:
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge - Box
MB: ASUS P8Z77-V LX2
MEM: Kingston 8GB DDR3 2400MHz (2x4) HyperX
GFX: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 660 OC (2GB DDR5)
SSD: OCZ Vertex 3 SSD - 120GB

I want to OC the 3770k to 4.0ghz - which leads to the questions:

will i have to purchase a new CPU fan? (and if so, will the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo be good enough?)
Is my 3Rsystem Zion ATX case okay?
Can my LC Power Super Silent LC6550 V2.0 do the job?

yes if you want to oc i would suggest picking up aftermarket heatsink as ocing increases your temperatues
yea the case is fine...it will fit atx or mini atx mobos
and as christop said above get a psu from Antec, Asus, Corsair....not cooler master

Get a better PSU: Antec, Cooler Master and Corsair are the only one i used and i never had one failed on me... (had a Antec NeoHE 500w for 7 years now powering his second rig, a Core 2 Quad @ 4.05ghz and dual 560-ti... I also have a Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1000w for 2 years now 24/7 usage for my new setup (it was in my old rig then i swap it as it's newer and better (currently on a 3770k 4.87ghz and a 680, i plan on a second one soon) Corsair works well but the
fan is a little more louder than what i wanted so i return it to change for the Cooler Master (it was an AX750) and i don't regret it 😉

you should grab a good cooler for your CPU if you want to overclock (i can suggest the HYPER 212 from cooler Master that sells for about 30$ and sometime 15-20 in rebate)
