Occasional pc crashes

this has happened to me twice in 3 months since i put together my computer, i would be playing a game or doing basic word processing or even browsing the internet, and the PC would shut off suddenly and i would hear a loud springy ping noise. i was told that this was caused by the cpu overheating. anyone know what the problem could be?

run hw monitor and watch your temps

on idle and browsing they are around 40-47C, gaming they hit about 50-60C. this is an amd athlon x4 760kBE

those are fine temps so its probably the psu

So you are saying its defective? its a CX600M and the system is about 350W.

yeah it seems like it and its the easiest thing to replace it happens
