OC'ing AMD FX-9590

Hi,
My PC specs:
16 gigs RAM
990xFXA-UD3 Mobo
CrossFireX r9 290x's, although I took one out since I need a better PSU
AMD FX-9590
600W PSU

I can't seem to get my CPU to OC at even 4.9 GHz, when it runs at 4.7 GHz out of the box. I don't know a whole lot about overclocking though. However, I was hoping some CPU gurus could help me out or lead me in the right direction. Thanks!

With 2 R9 290x's though, will the fx-9590 be bottlenecking the CrossFireX?

Edit: In single GPU configurations it is close though. I honestly say, just stick with your FX and see how well you like it and do tests yourself. If you are not satisfied then think about Intel.

This is correct, but...

I would honestly look into an 8350. Hell, I'm running a 780 Ti just fine with it, no bottleneck, at 4.4GHz. Maybe I'm being a fanboy, but I know that an i5 4670K can also run a 780 Ti just fine with no problems or overclocking.

And the only thing you'll get to handle 2 R9 290X...well, I'd at an i7 3770K or higher level chip for that, to be honest, so you can get the most bang out of them. :\

Dude. Go with the i5. i7s are for bigger stuff, not just video games, like video rendering and CS5 and stuff. And SERIOUS video rendering.
