Oculus- Am I USB ready?

Hi all,

First off, outside of work and gaming on my PC, I'm a complete newbie. This may be a simple question, but it's something that I'm pretty worried about. Back in January I pre-ordered the Oculus Rift. My PC isn't Oculus ready (I knew this going into it), but I'm currently beefing it up in time for the arrival of my Rift. However, when doing the official Oculus Ready test, it said that in terms of USB my ASMedia XHCI Controller isn't compatible with the Rift. The Rift needs two USB 3.0's to get working. I have a row of USBs on the top of my PC as well as the back. Two USBs on the top are blue which I believe means it's 3.0, while four on the back are blue. I'm not exactly sure what a ASMedia XHCI Controller is though, and if it effects all my USB 3.0's.

Any help on this matter? Thank you.

USB 3.0 ports don't mean 3xUSB ports but the standard or revision of the port you're using. USB 3.0: What Is It and Do You Want It? You've stated that there are 4 ports at the back of your motherboard which are blue, those are your USB 3.0 ports though often times front panel USB3.0 ports can be connected via an adapter to a USB2.0 port. Although you've stated the make of the motherboard(ASRock) we are yet to learn of your motherboard's series/model number. On the flipside the USB3.0 ports that you currently have are being powered by an ASMedia controller which doesn't meet the requirements for VR by Oculus. Controllers can range between those found in Intel's AMD's or add on chipsets for functionality purposes. While technology moves forward manufacturers include those functionality's int heir home brew chipsets as Intel and AMD have done over the years.

Is it possible to pass on your full system's specs? You may also want to bring yourself up to speed with this reddit.

By the way, after temporarily disabling my ASMedia XHCI Controller the Oculus Ready test deems my USBs Oculus Ready. Does this mean that not all of my USB 3.0's are all under the ASMedia XHCI Controller? Again, apologies for any silly questions.
